Onceagain Victoria Vane has done an amazing job! I love the Devil DeVere and the predicaments those around him get into. Vesta is an impetuous girl (woman) who is about to have her coming out season. She is now a woman of marriageable age. She sees Hew DeVere and immediately decides he’s the one for her. Hew, on the other hand wants a calm, proper wife. Whatever will Vesta do? I found myself alternating between amusement and frustration at Vesta’s antics. One moment she was pulling outlandish stunts to get Hew’s attention and then the next she was acting like a spoiled brat. Even though I found her frustrating at times, she simply acting like a young woman who just needs a little more time to grow up. She is, through it all very loveable and I found myself cheering her on in her pursuit of Hew. Hew was old before his time. He desperately needs someone like Vesta. Someone with passion for life and a no holds barred attitude. I found Hew’s plight to be comical as he fought his feelings for Vesta. He’s a war hero who needs to lighten up! I thoroughly enjoyed THE VIRGIN HUNTRESS. This novella is a quick read as the story flows nicely and keeps the reader flipping pages to find out what happens next. I am ready for the next Devil DeVere book and can’t wait to see what those around him get into next. Iam most eagerly awaiting for Devil himself to get ensnared and find out how hard he falls!

I am a happily married mother of three very busy children.  Most of my time is spent chauffeuring my kidsto their various activities. I cram reading into any spare moment I have. Somedays I can have an hour or two and others I’m sneaking in quick reads while waiting on the kids to finish their soccer or gymnastics practice. I like to read a wide variety of genres but I definitely prefer romance. I can’t really pinpoint a favorite author as it changes on a regular basis. I absolutely love finding new authors and giving their stories a chance to be heard. We all have a voice in our heads writing stories and those voices should be given a chance to be heard.

  1. Sounds interesting. Relieved that the review was positive, a bit worried the heroine being a bit of a spoiled brat might not be likable at 1st.

    • Linda-She was a bit a spoiled brat. However, it’s understandable why she acts that way. Her life changed suddenly and nothing was going the way it was planned to go. For a young woman about to have her come out to society, that’s devastating! It was a fun read and I can’t wait for the next DeVere book!

  2. Wonderful review, Lee Anne. I’ve read and loved ‘The Virgin Huntress’, as well as Victoria Vane’s previous novella in the series ‘A Wild Night’s Bride’.

  3. I’m with Lee Ann–I can’t wait to see how the Devil himself falls! I do love series like this, though, where you get a great story each time, but you also get to know one character really well, and get his story last. Then you’re even more invested in his happiness 🙂
