Letters at Christmas by Amber Lin
Sidony Harbeck has not heard from Hale Martin in three Christmases, not a single letter, yet she’d given him her innocence the night before he left. He returns and she literally falls out of a tree and into his arms. Hale offers her a wager—he will marry her by Christmas, which is only three days away. Sidony doesn’t want anything to do with him, but he refuses to listen.
I thoroughly enjoyed this delightful story from the first page. Hale’s campaign to win back Sidony’s heart entranced me and I was rooting for him throughout the book. Sidony is feisty and smart, a very loveable heroine. Over all, an enjoyable read.
Eight Tiny Flames by Crista McHugh
Ruth Mencher is a nurse in war torn Europe. She convinces Capt. Joseph Klein to celebrate Hanukkah. As each sunset goes by, they are drawn to each other. While Ruth is proud of her Jewish heritage, Joseph feels threatened by it, but he’s fascinated by Ruth. As the eve of the Battle of the Bulge grows closer, can this pair unite and become one?
I absolutely loved this wonderful story filled with passion and love. Ruth is a strong heroine and Joseph is a fearless hero. Their faith tied them together. I can easily give this great story 5 stars.
Erin’s Gift by Nancy Fraser
A beautifully written sensual love story. Erin O’Mara is a sweet, innocent young lady, who had a lot put in her cup in the last few years. She goes to a speakeasy with her best friend, Abby Harrison and ends up arrested! Her friend’s brother, Seth Harrison, an attorney, gets her off with a warning, but she loses her job and her home. Seth steps in and offers her the position of live-in nanny to his four-year-old son, Ben. As they move into the holiday season, their passions ignite.
I loved this wonderful story of love and redemption. The heroine and hero’s path to ‘Happily Ever After’ was an enjoyable one. The author added great flavor, giving the reader a sense of what it was like in the roaring twenties. I can easily give it 5 stars.
An Eternity of You by Sophie Garrett
Another lovely sensual love story. Andrew Wingrove, Duke of Sharrington, returns to his ducal holding after the death of his father. He finds the estate in shambles, his tenants wary of him, and the love of his life, Rebecca Rycroft, hates him. When he finds out she bore him a son, he’s determined to put things to rights and pursues her. Unable to deny her love for him, she gives in to her passions, but she knows that nothing can come of it. Can Andrew convince his lost love to give him a chance?
I love a story where love triumphs over past hurts and this story does that very well. Where a misunderstanding can be explained and the hero and heroine finds their ‘Happily Ever After’. This is another enjoyable read.
I thoroughly enjoyed this delightful anthology of holiday tales. Each one is beautifully written with great passion and good historical detail for the period it takes place in. I highly recommend this to anyone who enjoys holiday stories.
